Photography Course Explains Aperture Basics
A photography course in Nottingham explains the basic of aperture to give your pictures a professional look. Mostly the difference between amateur photos and professional photos is the way the photographer uses aperture. Aperture, also known technically as f/stop is the size of the eye or iris the camera lens when opened up. A larger aperture will have a larger lens opening enabling more light to pass through. You have to understand that in measuring aperture, a higher number represents a smaller opening and vice versa. They are inversely measured in terms of lens opening. Each unit of measurement in aperture is known as stop. Adding stop would mean opening the lens larger or smaller depending if it is stop up or stop down. Aperture inversely changes your camera’s depth of field. A large aperture will give you a short depth of field making a clear focus on a relatively shallow area making the item in focus sharp and clear while the foreground or background blurred.
